Point Roberts is located at the end of a peninsula which extends from the lower mainland of British Columbia, Canada. This five square mile area lies south of the 49th parallel, which forms the boundary between the USA and Canada. The Strait of Georgia lies to the west and Boundary Bay to the east. As a result of these geographic considerations the only highway access from the USA is through British Columbia, Canada. The area is unincorporated and is under the jurisdiction of the State of Washington and the County of Whatcom. The distance from Point Roberts to the county seat, located in Bellingham WA is approximately fifty (50) miles. |
